Gator Gallop 5K and Kids’ Fun Run

May 2, 2026, will mark the 13th annual Gator Gallop, an incredible event that draws attention from all of Wakefield and surrounding communities.

The Gator Gallop is the primary, full-scale fundraiser we have during the year, and it provides the large majority of funding for the PTO's events and enrichment programs.

There are three streams of revenue for the Gator Gallop:

  1. Business and Community Sponsorship;

  2. Student Pledge Drive;

  3. Runner Race Registrations.

Timeline

  • November 2025–April 2026: Identify event sponsors

  • April: Student fundraising opens

  • May 1: Race bib pickup for Greenwood families

  • May 2: Gator Gallop! Check-in and day-of registration starts at 8:00am.

  • May 4: Online pledge drive closes and winners will be announced after a few weeks, once final tallies are complete.
