Get Involved

When you volunteer with the PTO you are contributing to the enrichment of your child's education at the Greenwood School. Your support will truly make a difference. Our programs, events, and initiatives are successful because of the support of our parent volunteers, and every area can always use additional support.
*Note that all volunteers must complete a CORI form.

Immediate needs:

Room parents: Typically, each classroom has at least one parent who acts as a liaison between teachers and parents. Although each classroom operates differently, it often involves coordination of communication and events, like crafts and teacher gifts. Contact Marika Conway at marikapc@hotmail.com to learn more.

19-20 Committees in need of Volunteers:

  • Gator Gallop 5K/ Fun Run Committee *our main fundraiser!*

  • Teacher Appreciation Committee

  • Community Outreach Committee

  • Community Garden

  • Scholastic Book Fairs

  • Cash-Back Programs *Chair needed

  • Recycling Programs *Chair needed

  • Field Day *Chair needed

  • Spring Family Dance/Event *Chair needed

  • 4th Grade Moving On Committee *Subcommittee Chairs needed

Ongoing opportunities:

Volunteer for lunch duty: Whether you have free time each week or just an hour a month, lunch duty is a fun way to see your kids during the school day. If you can hand out napkins and sporks, you’ll be a great addition to the team. Sign up for a day or two here. Contact Marie Paiva at marie.paiva@wpsk12.org with questions.

Attend PTO meetings: Our casual meetings take place monthly. You are under no obligation to volunteer for events or activities--we’d love to have you just come, listen, and share your opinions.
