Get Involved

When you volunteer with the PTO you are contributing to the enrichment of your child's education at the Greenwood School. Your support will truly make a difference. Our programs, events, and initiatives are successful because of the support of our parent volunteers, and every area can always use additional support.
*Note that all volunteers must complete a CORI form.

Immediate needs:

Room parents: Typically, each classroom has at least one parent who acts as a liaison between teachers and parents. Although each classroom operates differently, it often involves coordination of communication and events, like crafts and teacher gifts. Contact Marika Conway at to learn more.

19-20 Committees in need of Volunteers:

  • Gator Gallop 5K/ Fun Run Committee *our main fundraiser!*

  • Teacher Appreciation Committee

  • Community Outreach Committee

  • Community Garden

  • Scholastic Book Fairs

  • Cash-Back Programs *Chair needed

  • Recycling Programs *Chair needed

  • Field Day *Chair needed

  • Spring Family Dance/Event *Chair needed

  • 4th Grade Moving On Committee *Subcommittee Chairs needed

Ongoing opportunities:

Volunteer for lunch duty: Whether you have free time each week or just an hour a month, lunch duty is a fun way to see your kids during the school day. If you can hand out napkins and sporks, you’ll be a great addition to the team. Sign up for a day or two here. Contact Marie Paiva at with questions.

Attend PTO meetings: Our casual meetings take place monthly. You are under no obligation to volunteer for events or activities--we’d love to have you just come, listen, and share your opinions.
