Dear Families,

A reminder to families that Friday October 6th there will be NO SCHOOL for students.  Monday October 9th there will be no school in observance of Columbus Day.

Wednesday October 4th will be International Walk to School Day. As a neighborhood school we encourage all our families that can to leave your cars at home and walk to school with your child. We will have a poster for children to sign and stickers to highlight the event on the playground. Mr. Hennessey, Mrs. Doherty and myself will be on hand to hand out the prizes to students at 8:30 am.

Parents, it is very important that students do not get dropped off on the playground before 8:30 am.in the morning or  wait on the playground after school unattended. There is no adult supervision before 8:30 am and all students waiting for parents after school should wait on stairs with the adults on duty. Please consider using Wakefield Academy if you need coverage for students before/after school. For the children’s safety I ask that you inform all child care providers of these important safety measures.Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

It was wonderful to see Back to School night so well attended.  We hope you found the evening informative. Please do not hesitate to contact your child’s classroom teacher should any issues/concerns come up throughout the year.

Have a great week!

Regards,
Deb Collura
