Learn to be a risk taker because there is more to gain.

Dear Parents,

I hope many of you will be able to come to our PTO meeting Tuesday evening, May 8, at 7:00 PM. Michele Labrecque, our literacy coach, will be presenting. She will share how the literacy coach supports teachers and students in the classroom, as well as ways that families can support students at home.  We will look forward to the conversation - all things literacy!

Author Jeff Nathan visited Greenwood School on Monday, April 30.  He was both entertaining and informative. He shared his writing with students and weaved in important craft moves used to write poetry. He also shared strategies readers use to understand poetry!  Providing enrichment opportunities for our students that reinforce the work teachers are asking our students to do each day is wonderful. Many thanks to Melissa Quinn for coordinating this event and our PTO for always supporting opportunities to enhance and enrich the education of our students.

Next week we celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week! The Greenwood School community is fortunate to have so many amazing, caring  adults supporting children each day. Our educators and staff members are talented and highly committed  to the social, emotional, and educational needs of our students so that each student continually grow and achieve.  I am honored to work with this team of educators and staff members and thank them for their continued commitment to our amazing, wonderful students.

I rarely have a chance to spend as much time as I did last Friday with small groups of students. Please enjoy pictures of some wonderful students I was able to have lunch with on Friday. I also was able to take the day off as another principal took over for the day! :) Have a great week!
