From the Principal: 10/15/19

Dear Greenwood Families,

I hope that everyone enjoyed their long weekend and got to spend time outdoors in the beautiful weather!  After spending all of last week anticipating stormy weather (and needlessly postponing our Evacuation Walk Practice), it was a relief to have some extended stretches of sunshine.  Let’s hope it hangs around for a while!

All-School Meeting Thursday—4th Grade Hosting

On Thursday, October 17th, our 4th graders will host the next Greenwood All-School Meeting and teach us about “Perseverance.” They will also perform a song or two for their fellow students with the help of Mrs. Brighenti, our music teacher! Families are welcome to come sit up in the balcony and watch the assembly. Please note that assemblies this year are starting at 8:50am—this is a change from previous years.

Fourth Grade Leadership Team

Sticking with the topic of 4th Grade, last Friday was the “kick-off” meeting for the Fourth Grade Leadership Team.  We found last year that many 4th graders wanted to be a part of helping the Greenwood community, and we believe that there are plenty of opportunities for them to do so over the course of the year.  In that spirit, this year we opened the Leadership Team to any 4th grader who took the time and care to fill out the application. We want all students to learn, grow, and participate! You will be hearing throughout the year from Fourth Grade Leadership Team members as they serve on various committees and work on projects to help Greenwood and the greater community.

Thank you for everything you do to support your children and their learning—let’s have a great week!
