From the Principal: 3/14/22

Dear Greenwood Families,

Happy Monday!  It’s that time of year again…hopefully by the time Monday morning rolls around, everyone has their Daylight Saving Time act together and nobody shows up to school an hour late!  Truthfully, now that we’re in a time where MANY of our devices adjust the time automatically, it’s just a matter of trying to remember how to reset the ones that DON’T do it (car clock, I’m looking at you!).  While I’ll miss the early-morning light for a bit, it will feel nice to have daylight still firmly in place both as I’m leaving the building and when I arrive at home!

Early Release - Wednesday, March 16

Our next early release day for students is on Wednesday, March 16th.  All students will be dismissed at 11:55am in order for WPS staff to have professional development sessions in the afternoon.  Please note: there will be a scheduled lunch block for students prior to dismissal.

Lunch Survey - 2nd Half of March

We will be sending the lunch survey for the second half of March directly to families via School Messenger on Tuesday.  Thank you for helping us keep our lunch counts as accurate as possible!

Updated Health Reminder

Thank you to everyone for their efforts that have allowed us to have in-person, full-time school this year!  While we are now in a place where masking is optional, it is important to remember that COVID does still exist.  We continue to ask you to keep children home if they are experiencing any of the following symptoms:

  • Fever of 100.0 or higher, chills, or shaking chills

  • Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath

  • New loss of taste or smell

  • Muscle aches or body aches

  • Cough (not due to other known cause such as chronic cough, asthma, allergies)

  • Sore throat, when in combination with other symptoms

  • Headache, when in combination with other symptoms

  • Nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea, when in combination with other symptoms

  • Fatigue, when in combination with other symptoms

  • Nasal congestion or runny nose (not due to other known causes, such as allergies) when in combination with other symptoms

Our school nurse, Mrs. Doherty, is always happy to answer any questions you may have or provide clarification.

As always, please do not hesitate to reach out with questions.  Thank you for everything you do to support your children and their learning!  Let’s have a great week!
