From the Principal: 4/4/22

Dear Greenwood Families,

Happy Monday!  It’s Gator Gallop week!  If you follow Greenwood social media, you saw that our 2020 Gator Gallop “Principal for the Day” winner *finally* got to claim her prize on Friday.  I can’t wait to see who my next shadow will be from this year’s festivities!  Hopefully we’ll see many of you on Saturday morning, whether you’re coming for the 1-Mile Kids’ Fun Run or tackling the whole 5k.  It’s so exciting to bring yet another great Greenwood event back in person!

Early Release - Wednesday, April 6th

Our next early release day for students is on Wednesday, April 6th.  All students will be dismissed at 11:55am in order for teachers to hold conferences either virtually or in-person with families.  Please note: there will be a scheduled lunch block for students prior to dismissal.

Conferences

Last Wednesday was a busy afternoon filled with lots of great conversations between teachers and families, and this Wednesday afternoon and evening promises to bring more of the same!  It takes a lot of communication and collaboration to make sure our Gators are getting everything they need to be happy and successful.  Thank you for your partnership in this!

MCAS - Grades 3 & 4

On Thursday, April 7th and Friday, April 8th, our Greenwood 3rd and 4th grade students will be taking the English Language Arts MCAS.  Sessions will begin right at the start of the school day, and while students are given as much time as they need to finish, the recommended session time is 2 to 2 ½ hours each day.  We know that everyone will put in their best effort to show what they have learned and are able to do!

  • Sore throat, when in combination with other symptoms

  • Headache, when in combination with other symptoms

  • Nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea, when in combination with other symptoms

  • Fatigue, when in combination with other symptoms

  • Nasal congestion or runny nose (not due to other known causes, such as allergies) when in combination with other symptoms

Our school nurse, Mrs. Doherty, is always happy to answer any questions you may have or provide clarification.
