A house fire damaged the home of Greenwood's Andrea, Brayden, and Evan Kelly last Friday afternoon. Many parents have reached out to the school to see how they can support them during this most difficult time.

Sometimes what we call "failure" is really just that necessary struggle called learning.
Dear Parents,
It is hard to believe the holidays are here and a new year will be begin in just a few short weeks! On behalf of the entire staff we want to wish all our Greenwood families a beautiful holiday season and a healthy and happy New Year! We are so fortunate to have such a thoughtful, caring community to support the work we do with your children. School will end for the winter break at 2:45 on December 22, 2017 and reopen Tuesday, January 2, 2018.
On Wednesday January 10, 2018 I will host a Principal Coffee at 8:30 am to share our Standards Based Report Card System. Parents have found this information helpful to better understand how their children are being assessed against state standards and what information you can expect to learn about your children with this report card.
The first report card will be entered into iPASS for parent/guardians to access on Friday, January 26 which will complete the first semester of school. All parents will need to be registered into iPASS in order to access report cards. I am attaching the link for families if you have not completed the registration.

Mistakes make a difference!
Dear Parents,
A reminder that Wednesday, December 13th is an early release day for students. Lunch will be served.
As the weather turns cold we ask that students come dressed appropriately. Students go out to recess if the temperature is above 20 degrees. We do require students to remain in the office if they are not dressed for the cold weather which is so disappointing to them. Your assistance in ensuring students come to school with proper clothing for the winter months is greatly appreciated!
Parents of third and fourth grade students please note important upcoming MCAS dates. We are attempting to administer MCAS as late as we can during the testing window to provide teachers and students maximum amount of teaching and learning time. Therefore, it will be very important for students to be in school during the testing dates as the window for make-ups is very short. It has been our experience that students perform best on MCAS when they take the test with their class and it is administered by their classroom teachers. For this reason, we kindly ask that you avoid making doctor appointments, dentist appointments and family vacations on the following dates. Testing is generally completed before lunch time on most days.
ELA MCAS Test Administration Dates: Tuesday - 5/1; Wednesday 5/2 (DESE has reduced the number of ELA sessions from 3 to 2. We have eliminated the 4/30 MCAS date. )
Math MCAS Test Administration Dates: Tuesday 5/15; Thursday 5/16
