Dear Greenwood Families,
We started last week with frigid temperatures and an ice-glazed landscape, found ourselves in a semi-balmy, windswept rainstorm midweek, and wrapped up with a bright, chilly, dry winter day. Let’s hope winter gets itself together soon and starts making it easier to figure out what to wear when we get up in the morning!
Early Release Day
Just a reminder that Wednesday, 1/30 is an early release day for students. Lunch will be served at school before we dismiss at 11:55am.
Spirit Day on Friday
As everyone knows, the Patriots are once again on their way to the Super Bowl! We’re going to show our best Greenwood team spirit that day by wearing clothing that supports our favorite team...even if that team is not the Pats. (But hopefully lots of Pats gear will be worn) I know the kids will be up for it!
Food Services Celebrates the Patriots
Wakefield Food Services would also like to recognize the Patriots and help boost team spirit by providing a free cookie to each student during lunch on Friday, February 1st. This applies to all students - not just those who are purchasing a lunch. While the hope is that we’ll see a lot of Patriots gear that day, that is also not a requirement to get a cookie. I wanted to make families aware in case there is a reason (other than known allergies) that you might not want your child to have one. If so, please let me know. We will have a non-food item option for children who are unable to have a cookie so that everyone is part of the team!
Lost and Found - February 1st
Is your child missing mittens? A hat? Miscellaneous items of clothing? Come and check out the items that have been collected in the lost & found bin! Actually, at the moment, it’s more like “in and around” the bin because of the amount of unclaimed property, and we’d love to reunite owners with their belongings. Come and take a look! We will be donating any unclaimed, UNLABELED property on Friday, February 1st. Putting your child’s initials on their clothing items helps us when a sweatshirt or hat goes astray!
Kindergarten Registration - Now Open!
Do you have a child who will be entering Kindergarten in the fall of 2019? Do you know someone else who does? Kindergarten Registration for the 2019-2020 school year begins TODAY, Monday, January 28th, and ends on Wednesday, February 6th. Information about necessary forms can be found on the Wakefield Public School website. Please spread the word!
